How To Share Your Referral Links

If you have just signed up for your first referral program, you may think sharing your referral links is sharing them with everyone you know. But before you do that, read this article first. The last thing that you want to happen is for everyone to ignore your referral links. In this article, you’ll learn how to share your referral links effectively. This way, you will not be seen as a spammer.

STEP 1: Take Note of Your Referral Link

First, you may want to take note of your link. Since you want to invite your family and friends at the right time, you should always have a copy of your referral link. As for me, I like to keep my referral link in my email. I email myself with the title “{brand} referral link” and then paste the referral link in the email body. From here, I need to search through my email whenever I need to find the link. I no longer need to scour through the emails from the brand or visit the website to get the link.

STEP 2: Understand How Cookies Work

For your referral link to work successfully, you should have some knowledge of how cookies work. Cookies are often installed in the recipient’s system for a month. Through this, you’ll get a reward every time they buy something from the brand you are promoting, even if they purchase within the next month. Knowing that this is how cookies work, you can always advertise your referral link regularly. If you do it this way, you’ll have more chances of installing your cookie in the system of your family and friends, so you are credited when they buy.

STEP 3: Share Your Referral Links on Social Media

It also helps to share your referral links on social media. You don’t even have to copy and paste your links directly. Some referral programs give you some sharing buttons that you can press for easy sharing. Similarly, you can also activate these buttons to allow your referrals to click on them. After all, your referrals can also become future referrers of the brand that you’re advertising. Sharing your referral link on social media is an easy way to get more eyeballs to your connection. It also gives your family and friends an instant heads up for they will see the brand you are advertising in your social media feed.

STEP 4: Send Your Referral Links via Email

You also have the option to approach your family and friends via email. By doing this, you can catch up with what they are doing and share your products with them. There is always something special about a personalized email. It is an excellent way to reach out to a lot of people with a single click.

The key to making your email campaigns successful is to choose people who are more likely to buy. It helps if you will assess the products and services that you are promoting before actually contacting people. Once you find the ideal market for your products and services, you can choose the people who are more likely to buy in your network.

STEP 5: Try Sharing in Online Communities

It also helps if you will share the products and services in online communities. Nowadays, people are flocking to interest-based communities on social media. These can be Facebook Groups, LinkedIn groups, and Group chats. The key is to get inside the communities of the most relevant audience for the products and services you are advertising.

With online communities, you are now going beyond your network of family and friends. You are also looking for the most relevant audience for your products and services. Similarly, you should also assess your products and services. But this time, it helps to also come up with a customer persona. It gives you a clear picture of the type of audience that you want to target.

Once you know your customer, you can easily find relevant groups that you can join. These groups should have people who are interested in your products and services. It helps to also look at the conversations within this group. While promoting yourself or spamming your link is not encouraged, you can always recommend it when people in the group asked for it. It will help if you put yourself in helping people instead of a business owner shouting his products.

STEP 6: Create a Product or Service Review

If you want people to be interested in the products and services you are advertising, it helps create a review. By doing this, you can showcase the product and services through the lens of your personal experience. And you can help them in their decision-making or buying process.

While you can do reviews in different ways, videos are encouraged. It helps prospective customers to visualize the experience of the product or service even before they buy it. Plus, they’ll be able to see the advantages and disadvantages of the product before they spend on it. It is a great way to convince people to check out a particular brand.

Note: This strategy works not just for referral programs. It works exceptionally well for affiliate programs as well. The great thing about promoting affiliate programs is you always get a percentage of the sale. Referral programs can only give you rewards. Affiliate programs provide you with cash.

As you can see, there are several ways to share your referral links. You must also note that you may need to share it multiple times if you want to get anything out of it. Sharing it once can only go so far. Even if you have many friends, they will still not stop clicking your link unless you share it at the right time. It also helps to talk to them personally and share your experiences with them. If you do this, you can share the link once they ask for it.
